Created in Iceland during the month of January, this particular collection of work explores a land where the sun doesn’t reach.

During this time of the year in Iceland, the landscape is covered in snow, from the ridge of the mountain to the edge of the cliff that would encounter the fjord, this land was illuminated for a couple of hours by this particular soft light that would appear with the non-rising sun.

I became very fond of this particular time of day and started having daily encounters with the non-rising sun that never crossed the pointed mountains on the horizon.

In each encounter, “No Sun Land” would present unique and ephemeral shapes onto the snow, inevitably creating a new landscape every day.

As Georgia O’Keeffe expressed, capturing landscapes is a personal endeavor—one must settle down and try, as no one can dictate how to paint one’s landscape. Inspired by this sentiment and the land that surrounded me, I felt compelled to draw my own landscape, embarking on a journey of observation and exploration.
